Decided to change it up a bit this week and share another poem. I don’t know about you, but here, spring has been a slow awakening. Plants are still waking up; their buds are stuck in winter times. Hopefully they’ll bloom, and the trees that have yet to regrow to their full extent will do so soon. We can all learn from them that growth takes time, as was the inspiration for this piece.
A tree sheds its leaves
Not only because the season permits it
But because the tree knows
In order to grow
It needs to let go
Of its old self
Those fallen leaves are a reminder
Of how far that tree has come
It couldn’t become tall and strong
Without them but now
They are no longer needed
The journey is not yet over
There are more leaves to grow and shed
But the destination remains the same
To follow the path
Of growth

Some of the best things are ones we've had to wait a long time for. Spring is actually early here this year. I'm used to lots of snow in April, but this year the magnolia trees are already in bloom. It's supposed to feel like summer tomorrow.
Really good to remember that growth takes time❤️
