Heart Speak

A poem about listening to yourself when it matters most

Our ability to push forward strengthens when we turn inward and listen to our hearts. That resilience inspired this poem, and hopefully, it’ll inspire you to continue listening, even when it’s hard to hear through the outside noise.

When was the last time

You truly listened?

Not to the noise of traffic

Or the trail of airplanes overhead

But to yourself?

---

When was the last time

You listened to your heart?

---

When you threw away all reasoning

And just trusted you’d be okay

---

Because no matter what

You’d find a way through this

---

Sometimes the mind speaks

Too loud and too much

Sometimes others speak for us

---

I want you to let your heart speak

And listen to what it has to say

---

It’s been with you all this while

I can only imagine the wisdom

It has to share

---

So listen and trust it

You won’t be led astray
