When I was a kid, I would write so much I thought I’d be a published author by 18. Even though many stories were unfinished, I held that dream close to my heart. But, of course, impatience and failing interest got in the way. Writing is a marathon, not a sprint; I’d come to learn later on.
Even still, I can’t hold onto an idea long enough to see it through before the next one pops up, and I’m onto that one. The process repeats itself numerous times over.
Then I got into poetry. I dabbled with it between my many abandoned manuscripts but just couldn’t get the hang of it. Years later, I threw out the rule book and jotted down my fragmented thoughts in the Notes app on my phone. I transcribed them into a leather embossed notebook…and forgot about them.
I continued writing poetry and improving my craft, which brings us to today. I had enough of a backlog to compile into a decent-sized book. That book is Wilting in Reverse, my journey through the devastating effects of heartbreak to the fruition of self-discovery and healing. It’s raw, it’s emotional, it’s reflective—and I hope it can help you in whatever phase you’re at in life.
